TEHRAN- The Iranian Army (Artesh) said it carried out a large-scale overnight drone operation targeting Israeli military installations and fuel depots in the occupied territories, including at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv.

In a statement, the Army said the unmanned aircraft hit military buildings, fuel depots and hangars for tanker planes at the airport. It said refuelling of military aircraft, airport operations and the movement of military personnel faced serious disruptions, forcing Israeli officials to rely on rail transport.

The Army said the strikes would continue as long as threats against Iran persist. It described Ben Gurion as a key site for Israeli tanker aircraft and rapid response units, with Israeli Air Force installations and maintenance facilities located nearby.

Possessing a large arsenal of sophisticated drones, the Iranian Army has mostly carried out drone attacks against U.S.-Israeli positions since the two regimes began their war against Iran on February 28. Missile operations are mostly conducted by the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, and to a smaller extent, the IRGC Navy. All military units must get their plans approved by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.
